ABOUT
Meet the Photographer
Where do I start this bio and how do I not bore you in the process? (Yes I'm not pretending like someone else wrote my bio). Ok well lets see, I like taking pictures. I started shooting for fun about 7 years ago. My daughter was born and I was on graveyard shift when it came to tending to her at night time / early morning. During my downtime I played around with the digital camera we had (which I had no idea how to use) but the more I started taking shots of my new daughter, more more I became hooked. I quickly attended the University of YouTube to figure out more. I started posting the pictuers on Facebook and soon after, local Moms started hitting me up to take pictures of their kids and family. I was like, "Uhhhh ok?" Then they would post the pics I took and MORE Moms started contacting me. I mean why not? Word was out that some guy would meet them at a beach and take pics of them and their families... For free. Well dammit, I started charging. Yep, I had to slow down the rush of Moms, and what better way than charging them $50? Well, It didn't help. There were more Moms. I was shooting almost everyday. Shortly after, I was asked to shoot a wedding, but I knew my entry level camera wasn't going to cut it. I knew you could make good money shooting weddings, so I went all in and took out a $10,000 loan and got arguably the best camera and two lenses on the market. I mean, what better way to make $500 on a wedding than to spend $10,000 on equipment that you don't know how to use? Ahhh the business skills were immediately impressive.
Long story short, since then I have shot weddings, funerals, portraits, boudoir, headshots, real estate listings, product shoots, album covers, macro photography, landscape photography and I've even taken pictures of some things I proabably shouldn't mention. I've always juggled photography on top of a 9 to 5 but after marinating at home for a year during COVID, I decided to ditch the job and do photography full time. Yeah I suppose I'm doing that "follow your dreams" thing that the old folks speak so highly of. There's a lot of fear inconveniently lingering around this terrorizing decision, and managing it can be pretty draining and time consuming, but.... I seem to find a little peace when I say, "Just take the best pics you can at all times, share them, don't sell yourself short and let the rest of the chips fall where they may." But seriously, please book a shoot asap I'm freakin' out over here.
